Mark and Missy go to Canada

August 2009

We flew to Nassau and then took the West Jet flight to Toronto and then on to Vancouver where we stayed with Missy's eldest son Michael and wife Tawnya. Then we took the bus back to the airport.

The rain poured down, but the friendly bus driver, Sandra, made sure that we got there safely.

We flew West Jet again to Kelowna, about one hour East where we were met by Scott and driven 3 hours into the mountains.

To "Whatshan Lake Retreat" where the wedding of Missy's second son Liam was to take place. Missy and I were given a bunk in one of the bunk houses but many of the 180 guests had their own trailers and RVs.

There was a very nice stage set up for Mark to play. The groom, Liam, is centre back with brother Michael on his right and brother Kristian on his far left. The two boys in front with the white shirts are Missy's grandsons, Niall and Jonah.

The wedding took place in the open as dusk fell. Here is Liam with his new bride Kelly.

Here they are again the next day, and at the reception where we were all served with roast beef and yorkshire pudding.

Mark and Missy and the best man, Dave.

youngest son Kristian, while Mark dances with the bride.

For the return journey we got a ride with Zade, Kelly's boss, through the Rocky mountains all the way to Vancouver where Missy's granddaughter, Anise, was waiting.
