Tropical Storm Hanna September 2008

We moved all the sailing club boats well up the beach and brought home the Capri and the skiff and tied them all together outside the cottage. We had "Angel" lifted out and stored at Griffin's Gas station.

All the shutters closed, bottles and plants moved inside and the cockpit battened down on Wednesday.

I plot the position of the approaching Tropical Storm with 65mph winds. We did not board up our front sliders, so we could watch the huge waves on the ocean.

Our strongest winds were from the North West with gusts of 60mph as Hanna passed us on the Atlantic side about 50 miles away Thursday afternoon.

Sadly, "Walk on Water", the catermaran that had survived several hurricanes in Governor's Harbour broke off her mooring and was wrecked on the beach. Missy and I were so glad we had managed to get "Angel" out.
